THE SIDDHIM WAY OF DAILY LIVING

These daily practices are not rules meant to restrict children.

They are supports designed to bring calm, balance, and strength into everyday life.

In a world where children are often overstimulated, distracted, and rushed, these practices help them slow down, regulate themselves, and grow steady from within.

They are introduced gradually and lived by students, teachers, and residential staff together.

Learning Responsibility through Seva

At Siddhim, responsibility is learned through action.

Children care for their own utensils, personal spaces, and shared areas.

They take part in cleaning, gardening, and simple community work.

This builds:

  • Self - reliance

  • Respect for work

  • Care for Shared spaces

Seva is not punishment.
It is learning to participate in life with dignity.

Simplicity is a conscious choice at Siddhim.

  • A common uniform is worn by students and staff to reduce comparison and distraction.

  • Children sit on the floor during classes and sleep on simple bedding, helping posture, grounding, and physical awareness.

  • Learning and living spaces use fans instead of air-conditioning or heaters, allowing the body to adapt naturally

When life is simple, the mind becomes quieter and more attentive.

Simplicity That Brings Focus

  • The body and mind function best when aligned with natural rhythms.

  • Dinner is taken before sunset, and rest is prioritised at night.

  • Grain-based meals are avoided after sunset to support digestion and emotional balance.

  • Children and staff drink boiled or alkaline purified water through the day.

  • Movement across the campus is largely barefoot, helping children stay grounded and aware of their bodies.

Living in Rhythm With Nature

Silence, Breath, & Inner Regulation

Silence is an important part of daily life at Siddhim.

It is observed during:

  • morning and evening group practice

  • meals

  • late night hours

  • individual reflection

Yoga, pranayama, chanting, and meditation are part of the morning and evening routine.
These practices help children regulate their breath, body, and attention before engaging in learning.

Strength, Safety, and Self-Control

  • Physical strength and confidence are developed through regular movement, sports, and compulsory self-defence training.

  • Digital use is strictly limited.

  • Students do not use mobile phones, and staff avoid phone use during school hours.

  • This protects attention, presence, and real connection.

  • Clear conduct expectations are maintained to ensure safety, dignity, and respect for everyone on campus.

WHY THESE PRACTICES MATTER?

These practices are not meant to make children rigid.
They are meant to make them steady.

Over time, children learn to:

  • manage themselves

  • respect their bodies and minds

  • live with discipline without fear

  • act responsibly without being reminded

This foundation allows learning, confidence, and character to grow naturally.

This is the Siddhim way of daily living —
simple, intentional, and designed to help children grow well.
